We’re cooking with gas
It’s been a nerve wracking week in blog land. For the best part of a week, and despite endless tinkering, my blog disappeared. Poof! Just like that, in a big nasty puff of smoke.
You see, I was trying to transfer over to a self hosted site and I, not being particularly technical and extremely naive, thought this would be a fairly easy and straight forward 10 minute job. I was wrong. So wrong in fact that I went and broke the darn thing completely.
Panic stations ensued, there was a crazy amount of googling, forum reading and 2am twitter chats with some very helpful techy chaps who were far more knowledgeable than me.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel and thankfully, things finally seem to back up and running. The site has a lovely new design which is clean, modern and really lets the food pics do the talking. I might continue to make a few wee tweaks here and there but overall I’m pretty happy with how things have turned out.
I may have developed a slight alcohol dependency and gained a grey hair or two, but overall I’m glad I stuck with the move and didn’t (despite the many threats) chuck my computer out of the window. 😀
