Nutella brownie

I don’t often do puddings and cakes. I’ve never really had much of a sweet tooth and usually only make them to keep the boyfriend happy. This is exactly how this brownie came about… we had just had a lovely dinner and had settled down to watch some tv. Boy wonder though, was looking a bit forlorn and was rather alarmed that we had run out of biscuits. “Isn’t there anything at all we can have for pudding?” he said, giving me the puppy dog eyes.

Luckily, I remembered a recipe I had seen doing the rounds on Pinterest – a recipe that incredibly had only three ingredients. Can’t get any more handy than that I say!

I was half expecting this brownie not to work, given the simplicity of it, but it was actually really lovely and tasted quite grown up. The boy himself gave it a big thumbs up and polished it off within a matter of minutes. Brownie points to me haha.


1 cup Nutella
2 eggs
10 tbsp self-raising flour


Preheat your oven to 180k˚C. Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl before spooning into a deep baking tray or cake tin (I used a silicone cake tray for quickness – no need to grease and flour beforehand), then bake for 25 minutes until firm on top.

After 25 minutes, remove from the oven and leave to cool slightly before cutting into either wedges or squares. I served mines up with a dollop of freshly whipped cream and a tiny sprinkle of cocoa powder but pouring cream or custard would also be delicious.
